Getting it Off Her Chest Podcast with Jay Del Ray and Shekinah Leigh
In January I had the priviledge of being interviewed by Jay Del Ray for the Courageous Women Podcast series. Jay and I have had so many deep and meaningful conversations throughout the years and finally we recorded one!
“I want to help create change for the women of today and the generations of women who are yet to come”.
We discuss where it all started as a teenager, passionate about women’s rights, fairness and justice. From my early days volunteering at the Women’s Legal Service (WLS) and becoming the Convenor for the Women’s Electoral Lobby in Brisbane (WEL).
“My body my choice” has always resonated strongly for me!
We talk about what it is like to feel soul starved in a corporate environment, stuck in a Masculine or Yang state of being. You hear my origin story on how my journey with Kahuna massage began, what it took to incorporate the Feminine or Yin energy into my life and bring more balance into my world and how pregnancy changed everything!
I know so many mothers can resonate with feeling overwhelmed in that first year or so of parenting and the breaking down that occurs around self identity, freedom, independence and alone time. It was these challenges through post natal depression and stress that took me into my role as a birthworker for many years.
