What is a Medicine Wheel?

“Medicine’ in ancient cultures often related to tools that encouraged the interaction between the physical and spiritual and teachings that created connection between our higher and lower selves, a way of being in harmony with the whole and our own personal power. The Medicine Wheel was a tool that was commonly used in ceremonies, teachings, and therapies by the native people of North America. It is a representation of the interconnectedness of humans and nature; as above – so below.

Older cultures experienced life through natural cycles; from the sun and the seasons to moon phases and the normal body rhythms. These recurring cycles easily translated into the circle, or wheel teachings, representing the naturalness of the death, change and rebirth experiences that were constantly happening around them.

I use the Medicine Wheel teachings as a basis for all of my work. I represent each direction of the Medicine Wheel through different feminine archetypes, or Goddesses.

“Whether you identify as male or female we all have this dance of masculine and feminine within.”

These 8 Goddesses help us connect with the 8 directions and it is a simple and effective way of allowing a  deeper understanding and embodiment of this sacred instrument of spiritual connection.

For Centuries now the ‘Feminine’ has been suppressed and neglected within both Men and Women. There is a new rising happening in this moment where we are seeing and feeling the power and potency of this denied feminine aspects within ourselves.

I have overlayed each of the directions of the Medicine Wheel with a Goddess that I believe symbolises and resonates strongly with the energies depicted in each of the 8 directions.

Throughout history the feminine has often been represented by many faceted Goddesses while the masculine is quite often only depicted by one. As we travel through the medicine wheel on our own personal rites of passage and hero’s journey’s we can connect and embody with each of the powerful feminine aspects, helping us to embody and understand our ‘rites of passage’ journeys more deeply.

When we work together we will use the symbolism of these ancient tools and teachings to gain a deeper insight into the ‘Rites of Passage’ experiences you have already had and the ‘Rite of Passage’ you may currently be in!

We can allow this information to shine a light on your ‘Dark night of the Soul’ so that you can return to your family, your tribe, yourself with your own Sacred Medicine every time you spin the wheel!

Life is a constant transition and transformation, constantly evolving (if that’s what we choose), into greater versions of ourselves. All of my services provide an opportunity to deepen your awareness, connection and understanding of yourself, life and others so that you can walk your path with heart in alignment with your Soul’s Purpose!

If we can learn and integrate as we transform our lives have the potential to raise the vibration of the whole planet…

Much Love
